Measure once. Lounge often.

A furniture photo tells you the shape. A few measurements tell you whether it belongs in your room. Grab a tape measure and compare these three kinds of space before you choose.

1. Map the floor

Choose a location away from doors that swing into the furniture and leave your walking route open. Mark the listed base length and width on the floor with removable tape. A round base needs its full diameter in both directions.

Look beyond the base: a platform, ladder, or hammock may extend outward. If the listed dimensions describe the overall piece, use those for your first layout. Leave space for your cat to approach and step away.

2. Measure the cat’s resting shape

When your cat is settled in a familiar spot, measure the space they occupy without disturbing them. Record both length and width. A cat that stretches sideways needs a different surface from one that curls into a ball.

Compare this with a listed cushion or platform measurement when available. A bed’s outside width includes its edges and frame, so it does not necessarily equal the usable sleeping area. Ask us if the detail you need is not listed.

3. Check the height in context

Measure from the floor to the space above the planned furniture. Consider windowsills, shelves, ceiling fixtures, and wall decorations. For a tower, compare the full height as well as the step arrangement. A tall tower with widely spaced levels feels different from a lower structure with a ramp.

4. Read the configuration

Photos may show several colors or sizes. Select your option and check the written specifications. Centimeters converted to inches are approximate. A 50 cm base is about 19.7 in; a 135 cm tower is about 53.1 in tall. These examples show how to compare units, rather than a fit recommendation.

5. Try the outline before committing

Walk around your taped footprint, open nearby doors, and picture where the upper levels will sit. Choose a level location and follow the included assembly directions. Keep the original packaging while you assess an unused item.
